Boot Device Error

Troubleshooting Steps

  • Plug in Your Keyboard

    Ensure your keyboard is properly connected to the PC.

  • Press the Reset Button

    Locate and press the reset button on the top of the PC to restart it.

  • Enter the BIOS

    Repeatedly press the Delete key (sometimes labeled DEL) as the PC powers on. Avoid pressing the Backspace key.

  • Navigate the BIOS Menu

    Once in the BIOS, use the arrow keys on your keyboard to move through the options.

  • Go to the Startup Tab

    Use the right arrow key to navigate to the Startup or Boot tab.

  • Locate Boot Option Priorities

    Look for the section labeled Boot Option Priorities.

  • Set Windows Boot Manager as First Priority
    • Ensure that Boot Option #1 is set to Windows Boot Manager.
    • If it isn’t, select it and arrange Windows Boot Manager as the first option.
  • Save and Exit the BIOS

    Navigate to the Save & Exit tab using the right arrow key.

  • Confirm Save Changes and Reset
    • Select the option Save Changes and Reset.
    • When prompted, confirm by selecting Yes and pressing Enter.
  • Check for the Windows Setup Screen
    • After restarting, your PC should load the Windows setup screen. Follow the on-screen instructions to proceed.
